Finished Product

Ta-da the finished product. Shawn has finished tiling our two bathrooms and I have to say, he did a great job and the bathrooms look so nice. Of course he cursed me the whole time because he really didn't want to do it but when it comes down to it, it looks nicer than linoleum and unfortunately, it needed to be done. We tiled our entry way, coming in our front door, a year ago and we had enough tile left over to the small area coming in from the garage but Shawn ran out of mortar and grout so now he is planning to finish that area as well with the left over stuff we have. Once that is done I figure I will try to give a couple of weeks of rest time and then it is onto the kitchen. That is going to be a chore all by itself because we are planning to paint as well as tile in the same weekend. We can't see pulling all of our furniture out painting and putting it all back and then pulling it out again to tile. So we will just make it a really busy weekend and do it all at once.

Fun Fun in the Vegas Sun

We went to Mesquite & Las Vegas the first of May for our annual golf trip. We go with my mom & step dad and they are kind enough to let us stay in there condo. This is usually the one time of year that just Shawn and I get to go on vacation. Don't get me wrong, I love taking my kids on vacation but sometimes it is just fun for the two of us to get away and let our hair down. I so thoroughly enjoy going to Mesquite with my mom, we just have a large time hanging out on the veranda or playing in the casino. These are my mom & Ted's very good friends, DK & Lou and they met is in Las Vegas, they are so much fun and we love hanging out with them. This year, like the last couple of years, we went to Las Vegas and hung out on the strip in the warm weather. We went to Margaritaville, that is an absolute riot. We sat on the balcony at the top in the sunshine , drink cocktails and watch the people. Shawn wanted to see the Sirens of Ti at the Treasure Island but there was too much wind so it ended up being cancelled. The only thing I want to see when I go down there is the Fountains at The Bellagio. It is an so pretty and I could sit and watch them for hours. My mom & I like the song by Andrea Bocelli called Time to Say Goodbye. We tried to go see the Masquerade in the Sky at The Rio but it was closed for remodeling, that is a show to see if you have never seen it. There are floats that are on a track coming out of the ceiling that circle the casino floor. There are dancers and they throw beaded necklaces like you would get at Mardi Gra. You can actually pay to ride in the floats and that is quite fun as well, we were able to do that a couple of years ago. They have fun golfing (Shawn, Mom, my step dad Ted & Shawn's buddy Trent) and I get to hang out on the veranda and read a book. It is so relaxing. Shawn keeps telling me I am going to get into golf so that I can golf with them next year. I did get a set of clubs recently so we will see what happens but that is a whole nother post...... :)

Summer Fun

My kids are so excited for summer, not only to be out of school but they got summer bowling passes from Sparetime Family Fun Center when they got out of school. This is a very cool & fun idea. The kids can bowl 2 games a day excluding holidays which gives them something to look foward to. The kids got the first mark on their pass a week ago and they had a absolute riot. They got bowling balls, shoes and bags about 6 months ago so when we go bowling they can take all their own stuff. I am so glad that I am able to get my kids into bowling. This is a sport that I have been doing since I was little and I love it. Now that I am older and are marred and have kids I don't get to do it as often as I would like to but I have a blast watching them and that makes up for it.

Many Many Projects

So our tile projects have officially started. Shawn started on our main bathroom yesterday and got the tile down. It actually looks really nice, I am surprised how good everything looks together. I just can't complain because of the price we got for the tile as it was on clearance a week or so ago at Home Depot. We have to live one bathroom short but hopefully will only have to live this way for a couple of days. We have to let the mortar set up until Tuesday and then Shawn will grout the tile and should be able to put everything back together on Thursday or Friday. I will have to post pictures once everything is done so I can show off all the new improvements in the bathrooms. I think Shawn is planning to start our main bathroom & the entry way from the garage next week so there will be more coming in the next while.
