Family Trip

As you can see from the below picture shows, the Dilley Family went on vacation. Two weeks ago Shawn & I and the kids, Shawn's mom & dad and his brother & sister-in-law and their kids went to Lake Powell for the weekend. Shawn's brother Kevin won a 2 night, 3 day stay on a house boat. What can I say about how beautiful it is down there. I have never been to Lake Powell so it was definetly an experience, the beautiful rock formations and what seems like an endless amount of water. We left on Thursday morning and drove to Goblin Valley to see the rock formations. It is this endless pool of different types of rock formations, ones you can climb on and in and others that you look at and go oh my godness that is high. We spent about two to three hours exploring around the valley. About 3:00 or so it was time to get back in the car and finish our journey to Lake Powell. We ended up getting into the park about 7:30. We stayed at the lodge at the marina on Thursday night and then ended up getting on the boat Friday morning. The kids were so excited to go and couldn't wait to see what the boat looked like. We did find out that it had a slide off the back of the boat. Taylar of course was the first one off the slide and I think the last one to go off it. The water was about 68, which of course is a bit to cold for me but my kids didn't, shivers and all. The boat was very cool, it had four bedrooms and then had two hida-beds that my nephews slept on. There was this most awesome houseboat that we saw in the dock, what a way to travel. It had a fireplace, multiple flat screens, stainless steel appliances, and of course the best part of all a hot tub on the top deck. How sweet would that have been? Our houseboat was very nice.
